Dr. Konstantinos Vougas holds a Molecular Biology degree from the University of Portsmouth, UK and a Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Athens. He has been the Lead Staff Research Scientist (Associate Professor Level) of the Proteomics Core Facility of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens since 2015. Dr. Vougas is actively involved in big-data mining and artificial intelligence research. In 2010 he won the international Innocentive crowd-sourcing competition (No: 9231572) entitled "Predictive Data Analysis" where his solution delivered the best predictive model among 1200 teams on a challenge to integrate and use gene expression levels and mutation status to predict phenotypic traits. He currently develops AI systems to predict response to the treatment of oncological patients based on their molecular profile. He has been a guest speaker at many Greek and International conferences. He is also a reviewer in many scientific journals. His published work, consisting of 45 publications in international journals, has received 910 references (h-index 19).
