Short Bio: Marilena Bourdakou





Marilena Bourdakou received her BSc in Informatics from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2011. She received her MSc and PhD in Bioinformatics in 2013 and 2016, respectively, from the Department of Informatics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA). From June 2013 to March 2015, as PhD Candidate in Bioinformatics at Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA), she carried out research on a FP7 “cooperation” project entitled “PIK3CA Oncogenic Mutations in Breast and Colon Cancers: Development of Targeted Anticancer Drugs and Diagnostics”. From March 2015 to June 2015, she worked as PhD Candidate in Bioinformatics on Cooperation 2011 –Partnerships of Production and Research Institutions in Focused Research and Technology a FP7 “cooperation” project entitled “GOSHOMICS” at BRFAA. From July 2015 to June 2016 she was awarded with scholarship by the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. From October 2016 to October 2017 she worked as Lecturer at the Postgraduate Program «Information Technologies in Medicine and Biology» at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From June 2016 to November 2017, Bourdakou Marilena was working as Associate Researcher in Bioinformatics at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA). Since March 2017, she is a Visiting Scientist at Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
