Short Bio: Vassilis Gorgoulis

Professor Vassilis Gorgoulis is an MD graduate and PhD holder from the Medical School, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He is an active Molecular Pathologist. Currently he is Director of the Department of Histology - Embryology, Medical School, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and head of the Molecular Carcinogenesis Group (MCG). He is also Adjunct Professor in the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens and an elected Honorary Professor, at the Institute of Cancer Sciences, University of Manchester. Since 2015, he is a member in the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). His main research interests focus on oncogenic pathways and anti-tumor responses, and particularly on the role of genomic instability in cancer development. Prof Gorgoulis has 233 publications in highly ranked international peer-reviewed journals and more than 14.000 citations, (h index: 52). He's international recognition counts numerous invitations as key note speaker in international conferences, seminars etc.
